It is supposed that after an event of great import, the psyche of the affected individuals changes. It is thought that the event is the result of trillions of years of cataclysmic changes. And such an event is bound to alter events for the next trillion years.
But the real question is…does it really matter?
A star explodes and three men make their way to a manger. It rains and a pot of gold is found.
Again I ask…does it really matter?
A trillion years from now, the world will expire. Will it be based on today’s events of great import?
Do I matter? Do I count in the great scheme of things? I know if I go, tears will be shed. But eyes eventually dry. Someone else will take my place. So why bother?
I’m not obsessed with my role in the world; I’m really more interested in the role the world has to play in its own story.
