My Writers Group, FRIENDS, got together last night after a long time. We talked, laughed, enjoyed good food, cried, and tore each other emotionally apart.
But that’s what I love about being with these guys. We can say anything and everything to each other, and we get it. It’s personal, but not vicious. We never feel attacked, and we can say what we truly feel without worrying that the other person will feel persecuted.
And boy was it good.
So, as a part of our meeting, we did an “I am…” exercise. We each wrote down sentences about ourselves beginning with “I am”.
I thought I’d share my list with you.

This is me, last night:
I am a self-centered egomaniac.
I am a sucker for a sad story.
I am nice.
I am short tempered when faced with constant self-pity.
I am consumed with constant self-pity.
I am shy.
I am image conscious.
I am a mother.
I am a wife.
I am a fair person.
I am a slob.
I am an indifferent house-keeper.
I am as careless with my kids as I am with myself.
I am in love.
I am hungry for calorie-heavy food all the time.
I am a mental snob.
I am filled with great ideas today.
So. What are you today?
