As she hovered by the grass near the edge of the vast jungle that made up her world, the voices she had left behind kept intruding, an incessant humming growing louder the more she tried to push it away.
“Forget them!”, beckoned the soft breeze as it played with her hair.
With a twitch of her wings she soared. The white wisps of clouds merging with the blue of the sky made a spectacular backdrop to the the yellow and pink dotted fields below.
And with each sweep of her wings, she felt the voices fade. She felt each worry break off and fall away. Lighter and lighter as she swooped so high she felt the heavens reach out to say hello.
She danced upon the winds. She swooped down and let the soft grass caress her feet before she took off again to challenge the skies.
This is what she craved. Let them talk and murmur and plot behind her back.
As long as she could fly, she would be free.
