There are some people in this world whose sole reason for existence is to cause others to give thanks for all that they have.
That sounds clichéd – or flip, depending on your point of view. I don’t think it’s either. It’s simply a statement.
This statement will be analyzed, broken apart. People will offer explanations trying to justify their reaction to it. Those reactions will stem from either of two emotions. Some will feel a deep sense of guilt for things they have done, or thoughts they may have had. Others will honestly believe they are good, and will justify their goodness by trying to relate with it.
A justification is usually aimed at oneself, not the world. Think about it.
In the meanwhile, there are some people in this world whose sole aim is to cause others to give thanks for all that they have.
One response to “Analyze Yourself”
I take this to mean there are some horrors that call themselves people. When the rest of us see them, we are thankful we are not they?
OR
Those poor sots, so downtrodden, how lucky am I! There but for the grace of god go I.
Who do we give these thanks to? God? What did he/she/it do? Ah to be something that only gets thanks and not blame…
